On Thursday 14th of January 2016, one of Britain’s most beloved actors, Alan Rickman, died after a long battle with cancer at the age of just sixty-nine.
Most well known for his role as Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, Alan Rickman was renowned for his iconic voice and acting style. Millions of Potter fans all over the world are ‘raising their wands’ in tribute to this incredible man. Rickman was not only a film actor, but a great thespian and member of The Royal Shakespeare Company.
Hundreds of celebrities have posted their condolences on social media, including author of the Harry Potter novels, J.K. Rowling.
Rickman was a great actor and contributed an incredible amount to British film, television and theatre.
He will be sorely missed.
