The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 | Movie Review

Spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

Hello, readers!

So on Thursday 20th November I went to the cinema and watched the film I had been waiting for all year. Needless to say, it was brilliant.

Francis Lawrence really outdid himself this time. The movie was beautiful, every shot was perfect. Katniss’ wig was amazing, you couldn’t even tell it was fake. The CGI they did on Peeta to make him look starved was truly brilliant. You could see every bone; I could cut cheese with those cheeks!

In terms of content, I was thoroughly impressed. The only thing they missed out were the wristbands from District 13, but that wasn’t really important. J-Law’s recital of The Hanging Tree was so beautiful. She sung it with such emotion and care, like she really was Katniss singing the forbidden song from her childhood.

Overall, I was so impressed and can’t watch to see what they do with Part 2. It’ll be hard to top that!

Share your thoughts on the film in the comments, I’d love to hear what you thought of it!
